Phase 7 Hope For Venezuelan Refugees Project Soup Program -
The lack of access to food and essential services has forced hundreds of thousands of Venezuelan refugees and migrants to flee their country.
According to UNHCR, one in four Venezuelans skipped meals before the pandemic. Older persons, often the primary breadwinner, face additional hardship since almost half have lost their jobs. Since COVID-19, more than 4 in 10 have had to cut back on the amount they eat.
The images show volunteers at Albergue Vanessa receiving our donation of food commodities and distributing bowls of nutritious chicken soup and arepas to Venezuelan refugees in transit through Pamplona.
Together, we are providing hundreds of Venezuelan refugees in transit “caminantes” with hope and access to the fundamental human right to food. #ChapelwoodFoundation
