Albergue Vanessa offers the refugees in transit, also known as "caminantes," a safe place to spend the night and have a nutritious meal to recuperate their strength before they leave the shelter to continue their journey, often to an unknown destination.
Their stories underscore the pressing need for more international cooperation and assistance to help alleviate the suffering of those fleeing Venezuela's deepening, complex humanitarian crisis.
