Together, we are alleviating hunger and building peace!!
According to the Venezuela Regional Crisis – Complex Emergency January 11, 2022 Report,
an estimated 2 million of the more than 3 million Venezuelans living in Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru were experiencing food insecurity as of August 2021, a figure broadly consistent with levels observed in recent years, WFP reports. With limited income-generating opportunities compared to resident populations, approximately one-quarter of Venezuelans surveyed in August reported consuming one meal or less the previous day, while more than two-thirds reported utilizing negative coping strategies such as selling assets or borrowing money to meet basic food needs. Colombia hosts the largest share of Venezuelans experiencing difficulties in food consumption during the assessment period—72 percent of the total Venezuelan migrant population—followed by Ecuador and Peru at 68 percent and 61 percent, respectively.
