Phase 9: Hope For Venezuelan Refugees Project Hot Meal Program, September 2024.
Approximately 53% of Venezuelans are experiencing extreme poverty, significantly impacting their ability to afford basic food necessities. This directly contributes to the food insecurity crisis in the country. The situation is exacerbated by macroeconomic instability, including inflation and low wages, which has left many Venezuelans struggling to meet their daily nutritional needs and forcing them to leave the country in order to survive.
Our Hope For Venezuelan Refugees team collaborates with the coordinators at Fundación Hermanos Caminantes to ensure that refugees in transit, or “caminantes,” have access to food as a fundamental human right.
