Phase 9 Hope For Venezuelan Refugees Project Soup Meal Program, September 2024 - Hope For Venezuelan Refugees

A large number of Venezuelans who hoped for a political change are now leaving the country, while many others are getting ready to depart following the fraudulent presidential election and the resulting repressive regime.
Nicolás Maduro seems determined to hold onto power at any cost. His regime has severed diplomatic relations with neighboring countries, detained thousands of demonstrators, and limited access to social media platforms in Venezuela by collaborating both domestically and internationally.
Without a democratic transition in Venezuela, the United States and its regional partners must prepare for the upcoming wave of migration in the coming months.
Strengthening international coordination is crucial to mitigating Venezuela’s ongoing political and economic crisis. Providing increased humanitarian aid and promoting partnerships between the public and private sectors can help reduce the widespread poverty and suffering experienced by Venezuelans, both within their country and abroad. Addressing the refugee crisis will also enhance Colombia’s and other host countries’ economic and security conditions, benefiting Venezuela’s neighbors.
Our team continues to work with our volunteers and allies to alleviate hunger and build peace.
