Phase 9 Hope for Venezuelan Refugees Project Meal Program at Fundación Albergue Vanessa, November 2024. Venezuelans continue to flee their country due to widespread hunger driven by economic collapse, food shortages, and limited access to basic necessities.
A report on Venezuelan Migrant Flows published by Migración Colombia indicates that the evolution of migratory flows has shown an increase since late July. Regarding Venezuelan citizens entering and leaving Venezuela, there have been more recorded entries into Venezuela than exits. Conversely, for migratory flows to and from countries other than Venezuela, there are more exits than entries.
Based on this analysis, it is evident that although migratory flows of Venezuelan citizens increased in August, the current migration dynamics do not indicate a significant volume of the Venezuelan population intending to remain in Colombia. This is reflected in the fact that the proportion of entries from Venezuela is comparable to the proportion of exits to other countries.
